Information - Silver Surfer Animated: 'Innervisions'

"Oh, this is delightful! You are the most cleverly designed enemy the dream has come up with yet! But Beta Ray Bill, Champion of Champions knows what to do!"

Episode Summary
The Silver Surfer must save the planet Harmony -home of the Winnum- from Thanos, who wishes to destroy it. What is Norrin to do when he finds the Winnum in a perpetual dreaming state brought upon by the powerful Dream Weaver?

My Two Cents
Certainly an... interesting take on Bill, to say the least. One may argue that this is just 'Beta Ray Bill In Name Only', which in all honesty would not be far from the truth. Then again, I can imagine that the reason why they decided to do Bill -and his people- this way was to avoid the ties to Thor and essentially make him his own character with 'no strings attached', as it were.

In some twisted logic kind of way, it works for the story being told. What makes me wonder is how the Winnum (the Korbinites, but we'll overlook that slight for now) got to where they were and why. If it was mentioned in the episode itself, I didn't quite catch it. It's also worth noting that to SOME sort of degree, Bill's actual design outside of the dream looks vaguley like Scott Kollins' interpretation from 'Omega Flight' -you can really see it in the face- plus the rather shrimpy equine-esque body from Bill's cameo in 'She-Hulk' a couple years ago. Hmmm.

All in all, it's not a horrible episode by any means. It has it's flaws and it has its good points. If you happen to catch it, do give it a watch and judge for yourself. Personally speaking? I'm curious as to how Bill's appearance in the abandoned second season would have went down.... just something to think about.
