Information - Costumes

While Bill might not have as huge of a wardrobe when compared to other certain superheroes *coughSpider-Mancough*, it's still something worth a quick observation. If I have missed anything, please feel free to e-mail me at mekairinek @ gmail.com (remove the spaces between the @, of course). ^^

Original Costume

This is Bill's 'first appearance' attire from #337.

Classic Costume (Beta Ray Thor)

Upon first glance at Bill's classic costume, one instantly thinks: He looks like Thor. While it might be somewhat true, there are notable differences between his costume and that of his oath-brother's attire. This lasted for a long time, up until issue #5 of the 'Stormbreaker' mini-series, where it was pretty much destroyed in the fight between him, Stardust and Asteroth.

Cosmic Powers Unlimited

Here he is from Issue #5 (?) of 'Cosmic Powers Unlimited'. All I know is that he got this outfit -and a variant of Stormbreaker- when he sorta lost the Odinpower and it was then mixed with the Power Cosmic... I think. (If anyone knows more details, by all means let me know)

If you ask me, the 'Cosmic Powers Unlimited' one looks absolutley HIDEOUS. I mean, he could easily give 'Ketchup' (don't know? Go watch 'The Juggernaut, Bitch!' if you're one of the 2 who haven't yet seen it) a run for his stripper money. The original, Walt Simonson-drawn one is just fine as is.

'Stormbreaker' Costume

Debuting in Issue #5 of 'Stormbreaker', this is a 'temporary' outfit that he wore after his previous one was all but destroyed. It is completley different from his original attire, if you couldn't tell. If you ask me, it looks almost like Thor's 'Ultimate' costume. Hmmm... Anyhow, I know most fans dislike this, and while I do miss the cape, I think it looks really sleek and streamlined. Very nice, in my humble opinion.

'Omega Flight'

For one reason or another Bill got yet a new costume, this time one hewing back to his classic look... but with a more 'earthy' color scheme. This too is, apparently, short lived as the previous one, only appearing in the 'Omega Flight' mini-series and having been discarded as of 'Secret Invasion: Thor' #1.

Simon Walters

Simon first appeared in Issue #6 of the 'Stormbreaker' mini-series, as the new human 'host' (or form) for Bill. In his first appearance, though, he's wearing a ragged army-type uniform with one sleeve torn off.

***

'Innervisions'

A classic case of an animated adaptation going in the completley opposite direction of the source material. Presumably, this (l.) was done to keep this Bill separate from his 'Thor' roots so he could be his own character in the cartoon series. It is worth noting that his 'real world' (r.) appearance is more closer to his actual comic form (orange skin, horse face) and predates the 'Omega Flight' Bill by the first to have actual lips.

Boxing...?

Yes, in 'She-Hulk #7' -Season 1, I guess-, Beta Ray Bill went up against the Champion and wore this outfit. Notice how shrimpy his appearance is compared to the 'bulkier' Walter Simonson*Bill or Andrea DiVito*Bill. I do have to admit, I like his head gear.
(And it should be noted that Gamora and Adam Warlock are his corner crew... or whatever those types of people are called in boxing)
